Throughout the year we have many school events that are fun, develop our values and build community. Together with the Parent Association we aim to involve parents in many moments of learning and shared experiences.
Start of the Year Parents Meet and Greet
At the start of each year, usually in late September, we host an adult only evening aperitivo event for all teachers and parents to enjoy a relaxed social moment together with food and beverages. It’s a great way to learn more about each other and connect.
Halloween
Each year, the Parent Association leads the organisation of our Halloween Party. Carved pumpkins, music, dancing, Halloween themed food, beverages and costumes! It’s a great way to have some festive fun together.
Sports Day
In October we host three Sports Mornings. The first is for our Early Childhood students who, alongside their parents, can enjoy a range of activities that challenge their coordination, balance, strength, kicking, shooting, throwing, running, dodging, evading and cooperation skills. It’s a fun and supportive morning for all. Our Grades 1 – 3 are mixed up into groups and enjoy a range of activities in which they compete against the other teams. They play football, dodgeball, evasion games, rock-paper-scissors races, target games and end with relay races. This is a fun morning and whilst no score is kept, each student receives a ROAR participation certificate and one team receives the Team Spirit award. Our Grade 4 – 8, mixed up into colour teams, complete a morning of competitive games which include handball, football, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, Capture the Flag and relay races. Points scoring is tallied and two team awards are presented. The first trophy is awarded to the winning team and the second trophy is awarded to the team with the best Team Spirit as agreed by all participating teachers.
