A network of Professionals alongside the school and families

Growing up well isn’t just about the hours spent in class. That’s why VIS has built, over time, a network of collaborations with specialists from the local area — professionals who share our same attention to every child’s development.

Why an International School Collaborates with External Specialists

Every child grows at their own pace, unique and unrepeatable. Sometimes that pace simply needs time; other times, it needs an additional specialist perspective, able to support the family and the school with competence and care.

For this reason, VIS has chosen to build lasting relationships with qualified professionals from the Tuscia area, specialists who share our same approach: always starting from the person, not from the protocol.

These collaborations don’t replace the daily work of our teachers — they enrich it: an additional expert perspective, available to families whenever they feel the need.

A Community, Not Just a School

VIS families are never alone when facing a question or a doubt about their child’s growth: our network of collaborations exists precisely for this, to offer expertise and a listening ear whenever it’s needed.

Speech Therapy — Dr. Mariangela Allegrini

VIS collaborates with Dr. Mariangela Allegrini, a speech therapist in Viterbo for nearly twenty years, and an Italian-English bilingual speech therapist. A valuable expertise for an international school like ours, where children naturally grow up immersed in two languages.

Dr. Allegrini’s practice, Metalogopedia, supports children, teenagers, and adults across four main areas:

  • Language disorders, when words are slow to develop or come out unclear
  • Learning disorders and SLD: dyslexia, dysorthographia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia
  • Dysfunctional swallowing, often coordinated with an orthodontist
  • Voice disorders, in both children and adults

Her approach, which we fully share, always begins with an assessment built around the individual in front of her, rather than a standard protocol.

Psychomotor Therapy — Dr. Roberta Latilla

VIS collaborates with Dr. Roberta Latilla, teacher and psychomotor therapist, who supports the school in nurturing children’s motor, emotional, and relational development during their early years.

Psychomotor therapy helps children get to know and use their own bodies as their first tool for expression and learning: coordination, balance, emotional regulation, and the building of identity all develop, in these early years, mostly through movement and play.

Dr. Latilla also brings a particular sensitivity to the narrative and emotional dimension of children’s growth, having contributed her professional insight to educational projects dedicated to early childhood — an approach that blends body, play, and imagination, perfectly in tune with VIS’s educational philosophy.
