Update on Erasmus CLOSE Project and EC Training

Dear St.Thomas’s community

I hope this post finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to update you on some exciting developments happening at our school.

Recently, our Early Childhood (EC) team had the incredible opportunity to visit Reggio Emilia and immerse themselves in the renowned Centro Internazionale Loris Malaguzzi. This firsthand experience allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the philosophy and mindset behind this innovative educational method. We believe that incorporating elements of this approach will greatly benefit your child’s learning experience.

Additionally, I am pleased to inform you that next week, some of our teachers will be attending the CLOSE Erasmus project in Florence. This project aims to utilize cinema as a teaching tool in schools, specifically to help students develop their socio-emotional skills and to prevent gender-based violence. Furthermore, teachers will explore and exchange ideas about teaching methodologies and best practices with educators from different countries. The participating teachers include Yuri Perrini, Jessica Saporito, Saskia Menting, Olga Ruiz Lobo, and myself.

To give you an insight into what they will be discussing and learning about during the project, please find attached the program itinerary.

We are confident that these experiences will further enhance our teaching methods and enable us to provide an even better educational environment for your children. If you have any questions or would like more information about these initiatives, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your continued support,

ms Valentina Terribili
